Reuben Nakian, who passed away in 1986, was one of the leading pioneers of modern American sculpture; a modernist sculptor who sought a contemporary style while taking his themes from mythology and giving them meaning in a new form. The exhibit will features 26 bronze sculptures and maquettes, as well as 19 prints, lithographs, and drawings, from the Nakian estate and private collections, presenting them within the context of his contribution as an Abstract Expressionist focused on classical legends, mythology, and biblical tragedies.
