In what seems like the blink of an eye, 2018 has come and is soon to be gone. So much happened in our world, from the winter Olympics and the tragic school shootings across the nation, to the Dodgers returning to the World Series and the recent wildfires that have devastated California.

It was definitely a year full of ups and downs.

How was your year? Did you reach the goals you set out to accomplish?  Did you finish your degree?  Keep your exercise regimen going? Get married? Purchase a home? Get your estate in order with life insurance and a memorial plan? If so, congratulations!

Maybe this wasn’t a great year for you. Perhaps you suffered some loss, be it a job, a bad investment or a family member or friend.  2018 may be a year you’d rather forget than remember.

Alfred Lord Tennyson wrote, “Hope smiles from the threshold of the year to come whispering, ‘It will be happier.'”

That is good food for thought if things didn’t go your way in 2018. 2019 is a brand new year and we hope it is your best one ever.

Happy New Year from all of us at Forest Lawn.
