Abraham Lincoln once said “God must love the common man, he made so many of them.”
We have to agree with honest Abe. Most of us are ordinary people, who work hard to provide for our families, study hard to get a better educations, and enjoy the good things in life.
Along with happiness, fun and joy, part of the human experience also includes sadness and the loss of those whom we love. Loss affects everyone, regardless of our position, stature or fame. And everyone, regardless of who they may be in society, deserves the highest level of dignity and care in their time of need.
At least that’s what we believe at Forest Lawn.
It’s the reason why we offer memorial property and services in a wide range of options to suit every preference and budget. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you do, we promise to deliver the same unmatched care to everyone who turns to us at time of need.
We consider it an honor, and our calling really, to help make this difficult time as comfortable as possible for each and every family we serve. It’s comforting on our end when we hear from families who have felt and appreciated what we’re doing. Many of them write to us and express their thanks
In fact, one letter we received from a family stated that because Forest Lawn was known for hosting funeral services for the rich and famous, they were a bit intimidated at first to come to us . Their loved one worked for years in a blue collar job and was a humble man who proudly served his nation and worked tirelessly to provide for his family.
In other words, a common man. Like most of us.
The letter writer reflected on how appreciative they were of how they were treated—like royalty, they said. They felt the special attention they received made them appreciate the value of their loved one’s life even more.
Words cannot express how that makes us feel at Forest Lawn. That, in essence, is why we exist.
