Thanksgiving is a time to pause and reflect on the many blessings we enjoy. Here in Southern California, we have so much to be thankful for: from the stunning sunsets over the Pacific Ocean to the mild weather that allows us to enjoy the outdoors year-round, it’s easy to see why so many call it home.
Despite the challenges facing the world today—uncertainty in the economy, global tensions, and personal struggles—there is still much to appreciate in the simple joys of life. Family gatherings, sharing a meal, and the warmth of community are reminders of what truly matters.
Yet, we know this time of year can also be difficult, especially when someone we love is no longer with us. The holidays often bring back memories of those who have passed, making it harder to feel the joy that others may experience. Grief can feel especially heavy when there’s an empty seat at the table. It’s okay to feel that sadness and take time to remember and honor the love that was shared.
At Forest Lawn, we understand how bittersweet this holiday can be for those who are grieving. We extend our heartfelt condolences to everyone who has recently lost someone dear. During this season of Thanksgiving, we encourage you to embrace both the sorrow and the gratitude, finding comfort in cherished memories and in the support of loved ones.
From our family to yours, we wish you peace, healing, and a sense of gratitude for the time we’ve had with those we hold close. May you find moments of joy and reflection this Thanksgiving, even in the midst of loss.
