From its beginning, Forest Lawn was envisioned as something entirely different from traditional cemeteries. The Builder’s Creed, which has guided our mission for more than a century, reimagined the cemetery not as a somber space crowded with disjointed monuments, but as a grand park—one graced with towering trees, expansive lawns, sparkling fountains, vibrant flowers, and dignified architecture. This philosophy continues to shape the way we serve our community today.

More than a final resting place for loved ones, Forest Lawn is a thriving cultural and educational center. Our museum showcases world-class art, inviting guests to experience creativity and inspiration. Throughout the year, we host beloved community events such as the Easter Sunrise Service, Memorial Day Ceremony, Día de los Muertos celebration, Ching Ming services, and Veterans Day tributes. These gatherings unite families and friends to honor, remember, and celebrate life.

Education remains at the core of our mission. Programs like A Visit with Michelangelo and Leonardo introduce schoolchildren to art, history, and the significance of remembrance. By sparking curiosity and appreciation, we help younger generations understand the value of memorialization and cultural heritage.

In addition, Forest Lawn serves as a vital green space amid the energy of the city. Our gardens and walking paths offer a tranquil retreat—an oasis for reflection, solace, or simply enjoying nature’s quiet beauty.

In every sense, Forest Lawn is more than a cemetery. It is a sanctuary that uplifts, educates, and brings people together—demonstrating that remembrance can be both meaningful and inspiring.
