Memory and Motion

“Memory and Motion: The Paintings of Hratchya Hayents” features more than 20 paintings by Armenian-American artist Hratchya Hayents. Born in Cyprus and raised in Soviet Armenia, Hayents was trained in both sculpture and painting at the Academy of Fine Arts before immigrating to the United States in 1980. In addition to his artistic practice, Hayents is a Planning Advisor at Forest Lawn-Hollywood Hills. His painting style incorporates a harmonious blend of action and meditation. He strives to push visual boundaries as he addresses subjects of compassion, equality, and unity. Hayents states that his guiding impulse is the belief that love and peace are the primary drivers of the human spirit, and that colors – like tears – have no nationality.
