Each year, we pause as a nation to honor the achievements, resilience, and remarkable contributions of Black Americans. Black History Month is a time to reflect, to learn, and to celebrate the legacies that have shaped our culture, our communities, and our shared story. Here at Forest Lawn, this month also holds special meaning. Throughout our memorial parks, we are privileged to honor the lives of trailblazers, artists, leaders, and everyday heroes whose impact continues to inspire generations.

This year, Forest Lawn is honored to once again host our Black History Month Celebration — an evening dedicated to culture, creativity, and community. We invite you to join us on Saturday, January 30 at 7 p.m. at the Hall of the Crucifixion-Resurrection, one of our most iconic and inspiring spaces.

The night will begin with a Community Resource Fair and reception featuring light refreshments — a chance to connect with local organizations, meet neighbors, and enjoy the warmth of shared community. Following the reception, guests will experience a one-night-only showcase of music, dance, poetry, and special-guest speeches honoring African American icons, culture, and history. It promises to be an evening filled with reflection, artistry, and celebration.

As we come together to honor Black History Month, may we be inspired by the stories that have shaped our past and uplifted by the voices lighting our future. We hope you will join us for this meaningful celebration of heritage, unity, and hope.
